I forget to say that the same XM+´s receivers worked perfectly with ACCST

The RSSI levels on ACCESS read alot lower, Frsky advised to change them to:

Low alarm: 35

Critical alarm: 32

Have you changed the values as above in the model using the XM+?

Yes, I did. This avoids the alarms, but the problems remains. It looks that the the receiver works well in terms of range (as in ACCST) but the level shown is very low or even kinda random. Failsafe is then difficult to setup.

I am fairly certain that the XM+ Access firmware is only up to v1.1.2.  The latest firmware for all other Access devices is on v1.1.3.  This may well be the problem.

Yes: XM+ is only up to v1.1.2. The v1.1.3 is not yet available for XM+ ...and probably will never be  because aparently there´s a problem of lack of chip power for the new high rates of 1.1.3. But I don´t think is linked to the RSSI problem.

I think RSSI issue it´s more an "offset" or "scale" problem of the signal at software level, and if it´s the case, should be solved eassily...I guess

We have notified Frsky of the problem and posed the question regarding the firmware versions.  Just waiting for a response!

I would really appreciate you reporting back so that I don't take my quad apart and re-solder the SBUS pad for no reason 😉

Just downloaded the R-XSR 1.1.4 firmware and it will not flash as it is a .frsk file and not a .frk file

Frsky any ideas why the file type has changed????

Just changed the file name to end in .frk and it flashes OK, just wondering why Frsky has changed the firmware from .frk to .frsk?

you can flash the receiver from the transmitter with the .frsk file!

I know, but I prefer to flash from my USB adaptor!

My question was, why have Frsky changed the firmware from .frk to .frsk? and why have they not updated the s-port adaptor software to allow programming of the .frsk firmware?

I don't know the answer to that question!  It is easy to just take the "s" out of the file extension but, no I don't know why they do it.
